  1. Release Notes week 11

    Welcome to the Guardey Release Notes from Week 11 2023. Here you can find an overview of the most recent features and bug fixes. 

    General Updates

    Seperated user portal and partner portal

    We introduce our new user portal via my.guardey.com. Therefor, we have two portal now. Our earlier portal via portal.guardey.com is from now on our Partner Portal. You can manage here all your tenants. Are you a user? You can find everything you need on our user portal via my.guardey.com

    Are you invited as a Partner? Please note that you first activate your account in our user portal. Please go after that with the same credentials to portal.guardey.com for the partner portal.

    Onboarding flow in portal

    We have also a new onboarding flow in our new user portal. This new onboarding flow is for users who register themself, but also for invited users. Invited users will see a short introduction of what Guardey is.

    Gamification

    With the release of our new portal we launch also our newest product; Gamification. Play in our user portal every week a new challenge and learn more about cyber security. In this game you start your own business and make this a success. But wrong choices can make your business an easy prey for cyber criminals. They will try to take money from you in all kinds of ways. Can you prevent your company from becoming a victim of cyber crime? Every week a new challenge is available, you can earn or lose money with playing these challenges. Would you like to earn more money? Play our bonus challenge as well.

    Implemented Site2Site Server (add-on)

    With our Site2Site option it is possible to make a connection with another network, such as an Office network. Our Site2Site connection works with the IPsec VPN protocol, which is supported to most networks. Please contact our Customer Succes via support@guardey.com to make this add-on available for your organization.

    Windows 1.13.0:

    New .EXE installer

    Before we had only a .MSIX. This installer is build for enterprise deployments of Guardey, installed via a device management tool. As this gave some issues with installing for users when it was done manually. We now provide a .EXE installer to avoid issues with manaully installations. You can download this file via our user and partner portal.

    Bug: Time of notifications was not correct

    We have fix this and again the correct time is by every notification.Bug: First onboarding task couldn’t completedThe onboarding task, set your first connection couldn’t be completed. This is now fix and when you start the first connection, this tasks will be completed.

    Bug: By notification the button “Mark all as read” was not working

    We have fixed this, and you can put all unread messages on read in once now.

    Improve auto-updater

    We have improved the auto-updater of the app. Tha app will show a notification when there is a new update available. If you check manually for an update, the notification will also show it here is one available or not.

    Whitelisting and bypasser are greyed out when they are disabled

    Via group policies the admin can disabled the option to use the whitelisting or bypasser for the user. If this is disabled for the user, the user sees a greyd out button that says “locked by your admin”.

    Partner Portal:

    Bug: Clicking on the breadcrumbs on the organization name gave an error.

    This is now fixed and give no error anymore.

    Bug: After sorting multiple organizations where hidden.

    This is fixed now and you can sort the table correctly. For exmaple on the creation date and you will see the newst on top.

    Welcome to the Guardey Release Notes from Week 9 2023. Here you can find an overview of the most recent features and bug fixes. 

    Windows 1.11.0:

    Bypasser fix: Automatically reconnect after adding IP adrress

    Last week we already fixed the issues with the bypasser, but when you added an IP adrress yuo had to manually reconnect the VPN. With this update the VPN connection automatically reconnect after adding an IP adrress.

     Pop-up notification when new update is available

    When there is a new update available we will notify you with a pop-up. Here you can choose to install the update directley or not. 

    See to which server you’re connected with

    When you go to the serverlist in the Windows app, you can hold your cursor on a server and you see the name of the server you’r connected with. 

    “Recently scanned data” refresh every 5 minutes

    In the Windows app your “Recently scanned data” on the home screen only refreshed when you switched to another page and go back to home. We fixed this and it will refresh every 5 minutes, so you don’t have to switch to another page.

    Partner Portal

    Deleted the “connected sever” by user settings

    As there was not the correct information there, we hide this information for now.

  3. Release Notes Week 8 (2023)

    General Updates

    New: Account inactive notification

    If your account is inactive and you will try to make a connection, you will receive a pop up message in the app that it is not possible to set up a connection due to your inactive account.

    Windows 1.10.0: 

    Bug: Bypasser fails

    Bypasser didn’t work anymore, we have fixed this. Note! When adding an IP in the Windows app, you have to reconnect the VPN connection before the IP address is bypassed. 

    Bug: Filters at alerts doesn't work properly

    We fixed the filters at the alert screen. You can use the filters and see the correct results now.

    Styling issues

    We fixed a lot of small styling issues on the Windows client:

    • Error message only visiable on the screen with the error
    • Added space to the icon and “catergory” in the table head of alerts
    • Added the tooltip of category in the table head of alerts
    • Added the tooltip at the home screen “Recently scanned data”
    • Added filters at the notifcations page

    macOS 1.8.0:

    New: Disable main-switch when always-on is active

    If you have “Always on” enabled, your on/off switch is disabled from now on and you will see a note to manage this in your settings. 

    Partner Portal:

    Bug: Does not show the correct amount of alerts within “Manage user” section. 

    This is fixed and we show the correct amount of received alerts in the last 7 days. 

    Bug: Show correct user connection activity 

    In the same screen within “Manage User” you can now also see the current connection status of the user. There is just a delay of max 60 seconds with the status and the connection. 

    New: Add IP’s for the bypasser via policies

    This is now available in the portal, but for this moment it is not working directly with the Windows application. We’ll fix this issue asap and will be launched in the next release of week 9. 

    New: Add notification bypasser is only for Windows application

    The bypasser is only for our Windows application. This was first not clear in the portal and we added this notification on the policies for the bypasser.

    MacOS Version 1.6.0

    Microsoft Login

    Guardey provides various ways to log into your account. We found that if you are not already logged in with Microsoft via your browser, an error message is displayed. This has now been resolved.

    Windows Version 1.8.0

    Display of Notifications

    We found that older notifications for Alerts would be displayed. We have resolved this to ensure the most recent notifications of Alerts are displayed first.

    Error messages when Guardey connection is unsuccessful

    In some cases the Guardey connection may be unsuccessful if you have no internet connection. We have now added specific error messaging to inform you if this ever occurs.

    Portal

    Display of “Activity” time per user

    We found that the time under “Activity” in the Personal Settings of the Users tab displayed additional characters. This has now been resolved to only display the correct time.

    Import a CSV file to invite multiple users

    It is now possible to import multiple users at once by importing a CSV file. Simply login to the Portal, click on Manage Tenants, click on Users, then click on the + icon in the top right corner. You can then download the .CSV template file and upload it to send an invite to all your contacts.

    Adding a new user only displayed after refreshing browser

    It was brought to our attention that when adding a new user within the Portal, you would be required to refresh your browser before the new user would appear. This has now been resolved to ensure the user appears immediately after saving their details.

    Entering a special character in the search bar

    When adding a special character in the search bar, such as as “@” - the search bar would display no results. We have resolved this to ensure you can search for contacts or email addresses.

    “Users not found” when loading content

    When either searching for a specific User or when clicking through the User section in the Portal, the text “Users not found” would occasionally appear. This has now been resolved and replaced with a loading icon.

    Empty Alerts Page

    We found that if you had no Alerts triggered in the Guardey application, the page in the application would appear blank. We have resolved this to ensure the correct design and messaging is shown.

    Windows Version 1.7.0

    Bypasser: adding an incorrect IP-address

    When adding an incorrect IP-address to the Bypasser, you would not receive a response. We have now added a pop-up to inform you when you have entered an incorrect IP-address.

    Error message when double clicking on the connection button

    It was was brought to our attention that when double clicking the connection button in the Windows application, an error message would appear. This has now been resolved.

    Font Size Scaling Tool

    We received feedback that certain parts of the Guardey application were difficult to read due to the resolution. We have resolved this by implementing a font size scaling tool. You can find this tool by going to your Settings → clicking on General → Text Scaling tool. You can choose to adjust the font size by 25% or leave it as Default. In case you have a resolution of 2256 x 1504 - the font size is automatically increased by 25%. You can adjust these Settings at any time.

    Navigation through the Portal

    We have highlighted the last step of the Portal in bold when searching for a Distributor, Organization, Reseller, or User. We believe this design will help understand where in the hierarchy you are located.

    Request a password reset link

    It was temporarily not possible to request a password reset link via the Portal. This has now been resolved.

    Notification Emails

    We found that some notification emails had an incorrect salutation. This has now been resolved.

    Windows Version 1.6.0

    System Tray Icon

    We found that the system tray icon displayed the incorrect text. This has now been changed. When you click on the system tray icon in the hidden icons section in Windows, you can now click on “Exit” in order to close the application. This is located in the bottom right corner.

    Recently Scanned Data text

    When starting the application, the text for “Recently Scanned Data” was overlapping the graph that highlights all data. This has now been resolved to provide a clear overview.

    Portal

    Sorting in the Multi-Tenant Platform

    It is now possible to sort the name and date created within the Multi-Tenant Platform. You can sort in alphabetical order or most recently created (and vice versa).

    Welcome to the Guardey Release Notes from Week 3 2022. Here you can find an overview of the most recent features and bug fixes.

    In-app notifications when whitelisted alerts are triggered

    After whitelisting an alert, you should not receive an in-app notification if that alert is triggered. We were informed that users received notifications despite whitelisting alerts. This has now been resolved.

    Displaying notifications in the correct order

    We found that when receiving several alerts, our system displayed older alerts first. We have resolved this to ensure you receive the most recent alerts first. This way you can take immediate action if necessary.

    Correct language on the sign-up page

    You can sign-up for a free trial account via the Guardey website. We found that when signing up for an account on the Dutch Guardey website, clicking on “Start 14 dagen gratis“ would lead to the English sign-up page. We have updated this to ensure you are led to the sign-up page with the correct language.

    MacOS Version 1.5.0

    Always On disabled when starting the application

    After testing our application on macOS, we found that the Always On feature would de disabled when starting the application. We have ensured that your connection is turned on if you have the Always On setting enabled.

    Windows Version 1.5.0

    Bypasser

    We have updated the design of the Bypasser feature. You can now add an IP-address by clicking on the + icon in addition to pressing the Enter button.

    Incorrect variable shown in overview of alerts and data

    It was brought to our attention that additional variables were shown in the overview of alerts and data. This has now been resolved to show the correct amount of time.

    Portal

    Search function

    We found that when using the searching function in an Organization - Users from another Organization would also be displayed. This has now been resolved so that you only see Users in the Organization you are searching for.

    Support link in the application

    A change in our code caused the application to close when clicking on the Support button. This has now been resolved.

    Windows Version 1.4.0

    Verification when adjusting Settings

    When adjusting your Settings in Windows, “All changes have been saved” would appear. We found that the text would remain visible even if no other changes were made. This has now been adjusted to disappear after a few seconds.

    Onboarding steps still visible after completion

    We found that the onboarding steps in Guardey were still visible after completing them. This includes taking the dashboard tour, setting up your first connection, and adjusting your notifications to your preferences. You are now no longer required to complete the onboarding every time you log in.

    Fully maximing the screen

    Based on your feedback, we have removed the ability to fully maximize the application as it would show a different design than intended.

    Portal

    Visual Improvements

    We have now added a “Previous” button in the Portal to help you go back one step. Also, to clearly show you where you are in the Portal, we have highlighted the Distributor, Organization, Reseller, or User in bold.

    Error when adding Organization, Reseller and/or Distributeur

    When adding a Distributor, Organization, Reseller, or User directly after another - an error message would occur. This has now been resolved. You can also upload a CSV file to add multiple users at once.

    Search Function

    We have improved the search function in the Portal. It is now required to use a minimum of 3 characters to search for a Distributor, Organization, Reseller, or User.

    MacOS Version 1.3.0 (1120)

    Notification for no active internet connection

    If you had no internet connection whilst having your “Always On” Setting enabled, an error message would be displayed. It would not be possible to escape by clicking on the “Try again” button. Instead, you would need to close the Guardey application via your Settings. We have now implemented a button to overrule the “Always On” behaviour whilst having no internet connection.

    Copy text to clickboard for Cyber Alerts

    Whenever you receive a Cyber Alert, it can be useful to copy and paste this information in a message to the Guardey Support team – or your IT partner. We have now implemented a “Copy text to clipboard” button for you to easily copy this information.

    'Add to Whitelist' Button

    When clicking on the “Add to Whitelist” button in the macOS application, the action would only be triggered when clicking on the text – not the button itself. This has now been resolved.

    Windows Version 1.3.0

    Tooltips

    We have implemented tooltips in different areas of the Windows application such as the Dashboard and Alerts page. You can click on a little icon on these pages to provide you with more information.

    Guardey Application Icon

    When minimizing the Guardey application on Windows, an incorrect version of the Guardey icon was displayed. This has now been resolved.

    Portal

    Update your payment method

    When attempting to add a payment method in the Portal, the pop-up would instantly disappear. This has now been resolved so you can upgrade and purchase your Guardey plan. Your Guardey experience is free for the first 14 days where you have full access to Guardey Basic. No payment information is required to start your trial.

    VPN Connection disabled when restarting

    When enabling the VPN connection, closing the application would cause the VPN connection to disconnect. The Guardey application on macOS now behaves according to user preferences when closing the application.

    Windows Version 1.0.5

    Bypasser Update (Access Local Network Drive)

    Guardey provides you with the option to define certain destinations that bypass the VPN service in the Windows application via the Bypasser. You can now also access a local network drive using the Bypasser which allows you to access your printer or connect to wireless speakers for example whilst Guardey safeguards your internet connection!

    Portal

    Manage Tenants Error Message

    It was brought to our attention that when clicking on "Manage" for a specific user, an error message would appear stating that a connection could not be made to the Guardey servers. This has now been resolved.

    Improved Search

    We have made various improvements to the search function in the Portal. For example, when now conducting a search, you will notice a green label next to the name of a company to inform you if it is an organization, distributor, or reseller.
